Guideline for Front Page Display

1. Subject Matter
Front-page ads are special advertising formats in the trade journals published by Carl Hanser Verlag.
2. Deadline
Since the article and cover page must first be edited and laid out, and you, as the client, will then need additional time to approve them, the latest deadline for submitting the article along with the cover artwork is the editorial deadline (see order confirmation).
3. Scope
The cover page package consists of a feature article and the corresponding cover image for the magazine’s front page. The editorial team initially reserves 4 pages for the article, which corresponds to approximately 10,000 characters, including spaces. Please include 4–5 images or graphics. If the article is shorter, the length will be adjusted accordingly.
4. Images
Generally, the lead image of the article is also used as the cover image. We’ll place your logo in one of the corners of the image to complement the design. Please send us your logo as a separate file.

- Full-width, possibly tapering upward
- Product or technical image
- No people, no animals
Lead image: Size
- Plastics / Plastics Insights / QZ Image size: at least 21 cm x 16 cm
- HANSER automotive Image size: at least 21 cm x 21 cm
Image resolution and file format
For all images / graphics:
- Image resolution: 300 dpi
- File format: preferably jpg; otherwise .tif or .psd
- Logo: Vector files with transparency are preferred
5. Text for the title page (title page note)
An editorial note regarding the article will be placed on the title page. The editorial team will create this note, as well as the title page note in the table of contents.
6. Price and Right of Withdrawal
The price for the front-page advertisement specified in the media specifications is generally to be understood as a fixed price. Since front pages are, by their very nature, available only in limited numbers, there is no legal entitlement to the acceptance of a front-page order. There is no right of withdrawal for confirmed front-page orders. In addition, the general terms and conditions of Carl Hanser Verlag apply.
